Origin of the naming of the ‘Kokki’

It’s the season of dazzling blue skies!
Hello, I am Kokki Sake Brewery!
Today, we would like to talk about the wish behind the sake name “Kokki”.

Kagayaki (暉), which is almost the same word as ‘brilliance(輝)’, represents the sun’s radiance.
In ancient Japan, the sun was thought to be connected to ‘kagairo’, i.e. ‘heart’ and ‘life’.
The word ‘暉’ also represents the brightness of life and the inner glow of the heart.
The blessings of heaven and earth, the blessings of crops, are offered to the gods and become sake, the blessings of the heart, that is, the ‘rays’.
Sake then breaks down barriers between people and creates harmony.

Blessings of Heaven and Earth into Blessings of the Heart
Emotional happiness for families, companies, and society
This is the wish behind the sake name “Kokki”, and is connected to the philosophy of “Making people happy through the production of sake.”
